NHL Breakaway – Signature Quests
Signature Quests are one of NHL Breakaway’s premier limited-time projects designed to deepen fan engagement by blending gamification with exclusive digital collectibles. Each quest challenges fans to complete a series of objectives.y. The ultimate prize is often a highly coveted “Signature” collectible: a rare, authenticated piece featuring a star player’s signature coupled with their highlight. These projects not only spotlight some of league’s biggest names but also add a sense of achievement and exclusivity for fans who complete the journey. The below highlights are two of many that I created.

When we started this project, it was spread out between 5 different designers and it took several months in order to complete the first round of highlights. After that point, I was able to take meticulous notes of the process and work to find ways to refine and make the process not only easier, but better. Through my technical oversight, I was able to take a project from being a several month process and streamline to only requiring around 2 weeks of design.
Below, you’ll find screenshots of a handful of highlights that I was tasked with creating. These required wide and square versions of these highlights, totally over 1800 highlights. The tools used were Figma, Adobe After Effects, Media Encoder, and Photoshop.
